Abstract: Nice example of at-grade opposing quadrants. More like jug-handles, but if it were a little larger it could have interior development which allows access from the quadrant roadway.
Abstract: DDI openned in 2014. At 2 nearby intersections, left turns onto Poplar Tent Rd are restricted by superstreet designs, with one loon on either side of I-85.
Abstract: I-485 will be completed as a beltway around Charlotte with a couple of new interchanges. The interchange at this location will be a DDI. Originally planned for a 10 lane SPUI bridge with failing LOS, I was able to convert this to a 7 lane DDI with LOS D or better for all movements in the design year.
Abstract: Another DDI in Springfield. Because the DDI is such a cost efficient solution, the Springfield area has been able to afford fixing many of their interchanges into DDIs.
